Connect Xero
Steps
-
In your AI assistant, open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector.
-
Paste the connector URL:
https://aigg-mcp-xero.aigurusgroup.com/mcp -
Your assistant sends you to the AI Gurus Group consent page. Confirm it names your AI application, then continue.
-
Sign in to Xero and choose the organisation you want to connect.
-
You are returned to your assistant, which now lists the Xero tools. You are connected.
Organisation role
Xero only allows app connections by users with a Standard, Adviser, or Administrator role in the organisation. If you see "You do not have sufficient access to connect this organisation," ask an administrator of that organisation to raise your role, then try again.
This is a Xero-side control: you can only ever connect organisations Xero already grants you access to.
Using the Demo Company for a test
To try the connector without touching real books, use Xero's free Demo Company:
- Sign in at xero.com, open the organisation menu, and choose Try the Demo Company (or open it if it already exists).
- Open the Demo Company at least once so it is active — a lapsed Demo Company will not appear in the connect list.
- Add the connector and select the Demo Company on the Xero consent screen.
Working with more than one organisation
Each connection is tied to a single organisation. To use another, add the connector again and authorise the other one.
Troubleshooting
- "Invalid redirect_uri" on the Xero screen. A configuration issue on the app — contact AI Gurus Group support with the time it happened.
- The Demo Company isn't listed. Open it once at xero.com first (see above), then retry.
- "Insufficient access to connect this organisation." Your Xero role is too low — see Organisation role.
